Forty years ago, the people of Southwestern Indiana imagined a University that would offer affordable higher education, prepare the workforce, contribute to economic development, and enhance the intellectual and cultural life of the region. Their vision became the University of Southern Indiana, serving with distinction from 1965-2005 and continuing to shape the future.

The University designates “college” as academic unit instead of “school”

University of Southern Indiana enrolls more than 10,050students. USI has 505 full-time faculty members and administrative staff, 254 part-time faculty, and 463 support staff.

More than 22,000 individuals have earned degrees at USI.
