Celebrating USI's 50th Anniversary Through Cooking

In conjunction with the University of Southern Indiana's 50th Anniversary, the Varsity Club has published a cookbook, Celebrating USI's 50th Anniversary Through Cooking. It is available for purchase at the USI Campus Store, and the first USI Varsity Club public venue where the cookbook can be purchased will be the Steak Fry 'N Auction on September 17 at the Burdette Park Discovery Lodge.

The cookbooks contain history of the USI Varsity Club and Athletics, as well as over 330 delicious recipes! The recipe sections are represented by the men's and women's sports as follows:

The cookbook is a collection of recipes from Varsity Club members, coaches, faculty, staff, alumni, retirees and friends of the University. The cookbook will be sold for $25, and all proceeds from the sale will help support USI Athletics.

Acknowledgements
The Cookbook Committee is comprised of Janet Werner – Chair, Cindy Renschler – Vice Chair, Yvonne Floyd, Penny Goshert, Paula Nurrenbern, Hunter Slade, Linda Willis and Donita Wolf. The committee expresses a sincere thanks to the USI Art department's ART 332 - Digital Illustration class for a terrific job in illustrating the cover and the recipe title pages. The project was supervised by faculty members Erich Shelton, adjunct professor, and Joan Kempf deJong, associate professor and assistant dean of the College of Liberal Arts.

The Varsity Club Cookbook Committee is deeply grateful to the many people who dared to share their best – and in some cases highly confidential – gourmet masterpieces for this unique collection of culinary delights. Without their cooperation in generously giving their time and energy in collecting and submitting the recipes, this project would not have been possible.
