Willett named director of Instructional Technology Services

Dana Willett, media production manager for Instructional Technology Services since 1999, has been named director of ITS.

As media production manager, Willett assisted faculty in integrating technology into teaching. In 2002, he received the Distance Education Support Award from the Indiana Partnership for Statewide Education.

He has served as adjunct instructor in the College of Business’ Information Economics and Finance Department, teaching courses in macroeconomics and microeconomics.

As director, Willett will provide leadership and direction to Instructional Technology Services, including distance education and Blackboard, the University’s course management system.

“I am excited about this wonderful opportunity to serve the USI community. I look forward to expanding my commitment to education in this new role,” Willett said.

He served as distance learning coordinator for the Southern Indiana Education Service center from 1997 to 1999, supporting distance education efforts at K-12 schools in southern Indiana and offering course development and technical support, as well as professional development. He has a background in television production, having worked for WFIE-TV for 15 years.

In 2004, he was elected to the Evansville-Vanderburgh County School Corporation Board of Trustees, on which he serves as vice president and finance committee co-chair.

Willett holds Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Business Administration degrees from USI and will begin the Higher Education Leadership doctoral program at Indiana State University in fall 2006.
