USI Trustees
Update
Evansville resident John M. Dunn, chairman and CEO of
Dunn Hospitality, was elected chair of the Board of Trustees at
USI in July.
In addition to his work with the USI Board of Trustees, Dunn has
been a member of the USI Foundation Board since 1993 and is a
Life Director. He was chair of the USI Foundation Board for two
years starting in July 2000. He received an honorary degree from
USI in 2004.
Other officers of the USI Board of Trustees for 2007-08 are
Jeffrey L. Knight, Evansville, vice chair and chair of the
Finance and Audit Committee; W. Harold Calloway, Evansville,
vice chair and chair of the Long Range Planning Committee; and
Amy W. MacDonell, Indianapolis, secretary.
Knight is executive vice president and chief legal counsel for
Old National Bank and Calloway is an agent with State Farm
Insurance. MacDonell is a historic preservationist, community
volunteer, and former chair of the Indiana Main Street Council.
An Evansville attorney and a University of Southern Indiana
student have been appointed to the University of Southern
Indiana Board of Trustees by Governor Mitch Daniels.
Ted C. Ziemer Jr. will serve a four-year term through July 1,
2011, and Jamie L. Johnson of Newburgh will serve a two-year
term as student trustee through July 1, 2009.
Ziemer is a partner at Ziemer, Stayman, Weitzel & Shoulders, LLP
and is a past chairman of the Board of Directors of the
University of Southern Indiana (USI) Foundation. He received an
honorary degree from USI in 1998.
Last year Johnson served as administrative vice president for
Academic Affairs for the Student Government Association and
received the 2007 USI Foundation Excellence in Learning Award.
She is majoring in chemistry and carries a 4.0 grade point
average. She is a member of the Honors Program at USI and earned
Academic Achievement awards in analytical and organic chemistry.
Jeff Knight of Evansville was reappointed to serve a four-year
term through July 1, 2011.
Frank McDonald '73 serves as Alumni Trustee. He is
Director of Governmental Affairs & Business Development for
Environmental Management Corp and former Mayor of the City of
Evansville.
The USI board has nine trustees and must include one alumnus of
the University, one current student, and one resident of
Vanderburgh County.
