USI Offers Legal Series for Small Businesses at Innovation Pointe
Whether you are a new start-up or a long
established small business, reducing your legal risks can improve your
bottom line and increase your focus on serving your clients and running
your business. USI’s Legal Series for Small Business addresses topics
for today’s changing legal environment. Sessions will be held in the
fifth floor conference room at Innovation Pointe, 318 Main Street.

Strategies to Reduce Legal Risks Against Non-Employees
This session focuses on various documents and procedures that assist all
businesses in minimizing the risks of lawsuits against other companies
and third-party individuals. Learn the best practices that every
business should implement to help reduce legal risk, such as terms and
conditions, buy-sell agreements, and non-compete agreements.

Employee Business Strategies and Document Retention
Every business should have a documentation policy. Learn the best
practices for reducing legal risks by documenting job descriptions,
employment policies, and employee discipline. Also, receive advice on
developing a document retention program for your company, including
rules concerning retention periods and proper document destruction
strategies. This program covers the increased use of e-discovery and the
good, the bad, and the ugly of emails.
