Two faculty members in the School of Business have taken on additional responsibilities in the Department of Accounting and Business Law.
Dr. Brian McGuire,
associate professor of accounting, has assumed the role of chair of the
department. He is a certified public accountant, certified management
accountant, and certified business manager. He also has professional
experience in both public and corporate accounting.
McGuire's research interests are in the areas of cost accounting, health
care, and accounting information systems. He is active at the national level
in the Institute of Management Accountants, serving as a member of the
group's executive committee and chairing the committee on academic
relations. He earned a doctorate at University of Central Florida and joined
USI in 1995.
Dr. Craig R. Ehlen, professor of accounting, has been named director
of the Master of Science in Accountancy program. A specialist in auditing,
financial accounting, and fraud auditing and forensic accounting, he has 20
years of experience in public accounting and senior financial management
with both large and small public companies.
He was recognized in 2001 by the Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) as Outstanding
Accounting Educator, an honor acknowledging excellence in teaching and
motivating students as well as service to the profession.
A certified public accountant and a certified fraud examiner, he is
president of the Indiana CPA Educational Foundation and serves on several
INCPAS statewide committees as well as on the national research committee
and editorial review board of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Ehlen holds a doctorate in business administration from Southern Illinois
University. He joined he USI faculty in 1989.
