Alumni Volunteers to Assist New Student Program
This fall the University will launch the Living-Learning Communities program (http://www.usi.edu/res/Theme_Housing.ASP) offering freshmen the opportunity to live and attend classes with the same core group of students.
One way this new program proposes to increase student retention is to initiate contact between current and former students of USI. Alumni volunteers will be matched through e-mail with students participating in the program. Discussion topics will include the sharing of USI experiences such as classes taken and involvement in student activities and organizations. Alumni may also share their career path and work experiences with students.
