Eric Sprouls appointed engineering
chair

Eric P. Sprouls, associate professor of engineering, has been named chair of USI's Department of Engineering.
Sprouls has been on the faculty at USI for 25 years. His areas of interest are rock and soil engineering and surface mine permitting.
He has industrial experience as a consulting engineer and holds a master's degree in civil engineering from University of Illinois.
USI offers a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, a program that emphasizes design as well as practice and includes the academic preparation professional engineers need to perform their responsibilities. The program meets the requirements for professional licensing in all states.
