Update on Career Services

The fall proved to be busy as the Career Services Office assisted students and alumni seeking part-time, internship, cooperative education, and full-time positions.  A new electronic system, MonsterTRAK, was implemented throughout the fall which allows Career Services to maintain a database of student's resumes who are seeking internships and/or full-time positions. A few of the major fall events coordinated by Career Services included: the Health Professions Job Fair, on-campus interviewing, and a visit from Disney recruiters for spring and summer interns.

In addition, on December 2, Janet Johnson started in Career Services as an internship coordinator. As the student enrollment of the University continues to increase, so does the number of students seeking experience outside the classroom. Continued effort for offering students out of classroom experience is one of the office's main goals. The addition of Janet will assist the staff in this effort and increase the number of full-time staff working with the internship program to two.

This spring, the Office will host the Career Search Job and Graduate School Fair, an Internship/Co-op Job Fair, and a Teacher Recruitment Fair.

How can alumni be involved?

1.) Create an internship program at your place of employment. This can be a very easy process. Just contact the office to explore the options.

2.) Invite Career Services staff to your place of employment to discuss further partnerships.

3.) When positions become available at your place of employment, post them through the Career Services Office. The Office offers free web posting and direct resume referrals.

4.) Request to be added to the mailings for relevant recruiting events.

We welcome your involvement:
