THE SHIELD
TO HOST 40TH
ANNIVERSARY REUNION
USI’s student newspaper The
Shield is turning 40, and will commemorate the occasion with a 40th
Anniversary Reunion at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, October 18, in Carter Hall in
the University Center at USI. The evening will include dinner and a
program celebrating USI’s support of freedom of the press and honoring
former advisors and editors-in-chief.
If you worked at The Shield or Transitions Magazine and
would like to receive a reunion invitation, send an email with your name
and mailing address to Erin Gibson, The Shield advisor, at
emgibson@usi.edu.
Include the years you were involved, the publication(s) you worked for,
and your role (news/opinion/sports editor, writer, photographer,
cartoonist, graphics artist, etc.) Gibson also is looking for
photographs, video, or other memorabilia to include in a special tribute
to The Shield.
Invitations will be mailed in late August. Tickets to the dinner are $20
