Dr. Marlaine Chase is an Associate Professor of Special Education in the Department of Teacher Education. She received her B.S. in Education from Illinois State University with dual major in Elementary Education and All-Grade Hearing Impaired. Her M.A. in Special Education from the University of Evansville in the area of Learning Disabilities. She received her Ed.D. through the Joint Regency Doctoral Program at Illinois State/Northern Illinois in Teacher Training - Special Education with a cognate in Early Childhood Special Education.
Her teaching experience includes: Kindergarten, 1st & 4th grades; Higher Education 7 years at USI and 22 years at University of Southern Indiana. She serves as the Director of Child Development Programs.
Dr. Chase's research interests include teacher education, distance learning & differentiated instruction to promote student success & self-determination. She is active in the community currently serving on boards of the Literacy Center & 4C of Southern Indiana and consulting.
She also enjoys serving as a student/family advocate.
