Camp Eagle


Day 1:

Check-in

Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. at Governors Residence Hall. The Camp Eagle Kickoff begins at 10:00 a.m.

Camp Eagle Kickoff

Students and their parents are invited to attend this event, which welcomes them to Camp Eagle, gets them energized for the weekend, and introduces the program and the Eagle Leaders.  The Camp Eagle Kickoff ends at 11:00 a.m., at which time parents are dismissed until the Closing Cookout

Flock Meeting

Students are broken into their flocks, and Eagle Leaders help them meet other Camp Eagle participants.

Expanding the Circle   Learn more about the Camp Eagle participants outside of your flock.  
Challenge Course   Students participate in a low-ropes challenge course designed to improve their teamwork, communication, and leadership skills. 

Individual Leadership Sessions

Students will learn about their personal values and how they put those values into action as leaders.

Flock Meeting

Eagle Leaders review the day and prepare students for the next day.

Evening Entertainment

Games and more at an Evansville-area fun center!

Day 2:

Group Leadership Sessions

Students will participate in group activities demonstrate how individual’s personal values and leadership skills affect a group.

Diversity Activity

Students will participate in an activity that opens their minds to the new ideas and people that they will be confronted with in college.

Flock Meeting

Eagle Leaders help participants reflect on the morning’s activities and prepare for the afternoon service project.

Service Learning Project

Students participate in a service learning project in the afternoon.

Service Project Reflection

Camp Eagle participants discuss the impact of their work during the service project.

USI Traditions

Eagle Leaders will present the history and traditions of USI in a fun and interactive way.

Flock Meeting

Students will discuss what they learned during the day with their Eagle Leaders.

Evening Entertainment

A Fun Fest at the Recreation and Fitness Center! 

Day 3:

Campus Involvement Fair

Students will learn about the leadership opportunities at USI.

Eagle’s Landing

Camp Eagle participants will learn the USI fight song and compete with other flocks for the Camp Eagle Spirit Award as we bring Camp Eagle to a close.

Closing Ceremony and Cookout

Parents and students are reunited and Camp Eagle participants are recognized.  Parents will get a little taste of what their students learned at Camp Eagle.  The Closing Cook-Out will begin at 11:30 a.m.

In addition, we will provide time for meals, a little free time each day, and time for personal reflection on the retreat activities.  The schedule is packed, so Camp Eagle participants should expect to stay busy each day of the retreat.
