About Sorority Recruitment

Being Greek at USI means more than just wearing Greek letters, attending meetings, and participating in Greek Week. Being in a fraternity or a sorority is about making friendships that will last far beyond your college years and committing yourself to scholarship, leadership, and service. It is being respected for your individuality while being part of a brotherhood or sisterhood with individuals who share the same goals and values. Your brothers and sisters are there to support you, not just through your college years but throughout your entire life.

Formal Sorority Recruitment is a mutual selection process that allows you and the sorority members to become acquainted. Participating in Recruitment does not obligate you to join a sorority; it simply provides an opportunity for you to learn more about Greek life at the University of Southern Indiana. Formal recruitment takes place early each fall semester. There are limited opportunities to join a chapter outside of formal recruitment. If you are interested in joining a sorority and would like more information, please contact Dani Dencklau at 812-465-7167 or dmdencklau@usi.edu.

Requirements to join a sorority: To join a Panhellenic sorority, a minimum 2.6 GPA is required. In addition, each chapter has its own minimum requirements set by their (inter)national organization. Please contact the USI chapter that you are interested in to find out their requirements.
