Random Number Table: A lo-tech solution to simple random sampling. How to use the table-- 1) number all of your elements on your sampling frame 1 to ?. 2) how many digits does the highest number have (e.g., if you have 123 elements, then 3 digits). 3) Take the first three digits (or however many digits you need) from the table of random numbers. 4) if the number is too high, keep going down the list. 5) each time you come across a number that matches one on your sampling frame--that element is in the sample. 6) continue until you have your desired sample size.
