Volleyball The University of Southern Indiana Volleyball Team
wraps up its 2008 home schedule this weekend. On Friday at 7 p.m.
it hosts Quincy University and on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Screaming
Eagles will honor senior middle blocker Margaret Buschman as part
of their senior day festivities prior to Saturday's match. USI finds
itself in a battle for third place in the GLVC West division as
it heads into the final two weeks of the season. The Eagles are
tied with Drury University for the third in the division. The GLVC
tournament takes the top three teams in each division, plus two
wild cards. the Eagles wrap up the regular-season with visits to
Missouri University of Science & Technology on November 7th
and the GLVC West division-leading, University of Missouri-St. Louis
on November 8th. Track After a dominating performance in the GLVC championships over the weekend the USI men's and women's track teams have moved up in the US track and field and cross country coaches' association division two top twenty five polls. The women's team moved into the sixth posion after their win against University of Wisconsin-Parkside. This marks the highest positon for the women's team in twenty years. The men's team moved into the tenth place. The men's and women's teams return to action on November eighth to be apart of the NCAA two midwest region championships in Big Rapids, Michigan.
Men's Basketball Saturday night the USI men's basketball team kicks off their season in the Vectren Community Classic at Robert's Staduim against the University of Evansville Purple Aces. This game marks the third in the series against the Aces and USI hopes third time will be a charm. The Screaming Eagles lost to the Aces in their meetings in 2004 and in a very close game in 2006. Game time is set for 7:05 pm. |
