Class Load
The normal class load is 15 or 16 hours per semester. In a summer five-week
term, the normal load should generally not exceed seven
credit hours.
An average of 31 credit hours earned each academic year will allow a student to meet the University's minimum requirements of 124
credit hours for graduation at the end of four years or eight semesters.
A
Students who for any reason find it desirable to carry more than
18 hours during a semester, or more than 18 hours throughout the span of the
entire summer, may request this privilege through their academic advisor.
Note that a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above is recommended before attempting an
overload
There are two ways a student may initiate the request for an overload:
Request
that their academic
advisor contact the Office of the Registrar via e-mail to authorize the overload (up to a
specified number of credit hours)
Obtain a Student Overload Form from the Office of the Registrar,
secure their advisor's signature, and return the completed form to the Office of
the Registrar
