Jon Mark Hall was appointed to the position of USI Director of
Athletics in January of 2002. He moved into the position after spending seven years as the assistant director of athletics. He
is the second Director of Athletics that USI has had.

In 2000 and 2001, Hall put the Eagles on the national map with its first two invitations to the NCAA II Tournament in the 27-year history of the program.
Hall came to USI after a tenure at the University of South Carolina-Spartanburg as an assistant athletic director, where he was the NCAA compliance coordinator, oversaw the academic support service program for student athletes, and coordinated the Athletes Can Educate (ACE) program. He also assisted in fund-raising and promotion activities.

In 1998-99, he completed the Sports Management Institute Executive Program at the University of South Carolina and the University of Norte Dame.
