USI loses squeaker to Anderson

@Anderson College 10, University of Southern Indiana 9

The University of Southern Indiana baseball team let a 6-2 lead slip through its fingers, falling to Anderson College, 10-9, in Anderson, South Carolina Friday afternoon. USI falls to 6-5 overall and finishes the spring road trip with a 3-4 record.

Offensively, USI was led by senior first baseman Andy Cook, who had a three RBI double, and freshman outfielder Toby Pritchard, who had a two-run home run.

The Screaming Eagles return to the friendly confines of the USI Baseball Field on Tuesday, March 13, when Oakland City University visits for a single game beginning at 1 p.m. OCU will be the first game of five consecutive home dates which will include Christian Brothers University (March 17-18) for a three-game series, Indiana University Southeast for a doubleheader (March 20), and McKendree College for a doubleheader (March 21).

USI will open Great Lakes Valley Conference play in two weeks when the Eagles travel to Kentucky Wesleyan College for a three game series on March 24-25.
