Eagles split at West Georgia

The University of Southern Indiana baseball team took its record to 4-2 overall with a split at the State University of West Georgia on Sunday. West Georgia won the first game 12-1, but USI bounced back to win the second 6-4.

USI was led in game two on the strong pitching performance of junior right-hander Steve Arnold (Evansville, Indiana). Arnold picked up his second win of the season, going six innings, allowing four earned runs and only nine hits while striking out one.

USI also got two RBIs each from junior infielder Justin Ambs (Zionsville, Indiana) and junior catcher Brian Scroggins (East Alton, Illinois).

Next action for USI will be on Monday, March 5, Kennesaw State University.
