Scholarships and Financial Aid

Labhart-Olsen Family Scholarship
(Renewable*)

Eligibility Requirements

Entering freshman majoring in mathematics
Enrollment status

Majoring in mathematics

Residency Requirement

U.S. Citizen or legally residing in the United States

Enrolling as a full-time student

Must successfully complete 30 credit hours each year the scholarship is received
Must be enrolled in a least one math class satisfying a requirement of the major after the first semester (Student may take Math 115 or Math 118 the first semester of his or her freshman year.)

Academic requirements

Have a minimum high school g.p.a. of 3.3 out of a possible 4.0
Have a minimum of either a 600 on the Math SAT or a 26 on the Math ACT

Selection decisions

Made by Admissions with approval of a committee appointed by the Chair of the Department of Mathematics
Selection based on merit

Renewable requirements

Maintain a minimum USI g.p.a. of 3.0 through 62 credit hours and a minimum 3.3 thereafter
Maintain a minimum 2.75 g.p.a. in all math classes fulfilling the major after completing 62 semester hours
Demonstrate the ability to successfully complete a bachelor's degree in mathematics within 4 1/2 years

The applicant may receive other forms of academic assistance without jeopardizing his/her eligibility as long as maximum financial aid does not exceed cost of board, room, tuition, fees and books.
