The Secondary Transition to Teaching program is a challenging, innovative, graduate-level teacher licensure program. The purpose of the program is to recruit highly qualified individuals to the secondary teaching profession.
The program seeks candidates who are dedicated to learning the craft of teaching young people at the 9-12 grade levels, and who have experiences that would make them a strong fit within secondary classrooms of the 21st century.
The program enables candidates to obtain teacher licensure in secondary education after completing an intensive, full-time, two-semester, 18 semester-hour course/field-experience sequence. With the subsequent completion of an additional 18 semester-hours of graduate-level courses, the candidate can earn the Master's Degree in Secondary Education.
