Science Teaching Major (Teacher Certification)
Physics |
Students who wish to become physics teachers at the secondary school level should declare the Science Teaching major and elect either the single- or dual-licensure option for physics. The content course requirements that lead to teaching licensure in physics are as follows:

| PHYS 205-Intermediate Physics I | 5 hours |
| PHYS 206-Intermediate Physics II | 5 hours |
| PHYS 361-Modern Physics | 3 hours |
| PHYS 371-Analytical Mechanics | 3 hours |
| PHYS 381-Electromagnetic Fields | 3 hours |
| PHYS 429-Quantum Mechanics | 3 hours |
| PHYS 439-Thermodynamics | 3 hours |
| PHYS 499-Research | 2 hours |
| Dual Licensure Option - (22 semester hours) | |
| PHYS 205-Intermediate Physics | 5 hours |
| PHYS 206-Intermediate Physics | 5 hours |
| PHYS 361-Modern Physics | 3 hours |
| PHYS 371-Analytical Mechanics | 3 hours |
