Patty joined University Division Advising in the summer of 2007. Before that, she worked in Academic Skills as a reading adjunct instructor teaching such courses as GENS099 (Strategies for College Reading), GENS151 (Applied Content Reading,) GENS105 (College Study Strategies), and GENS111 (Career Planning). Patty continues to teach GENS151, UNIV101 and a Special Topics GENS199 Test taking Strategies course. She also tutors for the Reading section of the Praxis 1 exam. Along with her advising responsibilities, she continues to work with the Reading Program as the contact advisor. She feels that student success is based on maturing on the affective and academic level. Patty is a member of NADE (National Association for Developmental Education) and NACADA (National Academic Advising Association) and CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association). |
