Peter Williams II graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern Indiana in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and Spanish. As a sophomore, he studied abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He lived there for six months while studying Spanish as well as history, economics, and political science. He also took courses in anthropology, environmental conservation, and Arabic. Throughout his final year at USI, he volunteered as an ESL (English as a Second Language) tutor for a non-profit group in the community. During his final semester, he was granted and Endeavor Award for Research and Creativity which allowed him to travel to the Dominican Republic to complete a research project, of which he later presented at the Endeavor Symposium 2012. After his time in the Dominican Republic, he traveled to Mexico where he lived for six months and earned a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate from the International Teacher Training Organization in Guadalajara. He is currently working as an AmeriCorps service member at the University of Southern Indiana working with first generation and low income students. His future plans including serving in the Peace Corps and attending graduate school for Urban Planning. |
