Athletics
The University of Southern Indiana Athletic Department is a
competitive member of the NCAA Division II and the Great Lakes
Valley Conference. The ongoing goal of the Athletic Department is
to achieve national prominence in each varsity sport while
maintaining academic excellence.
USI sponsors 15 varsity intercollegiate sports. Since 1990, all
15 Screaming Eagles teams have participated in their respective
national tournament and/or were ranked at the national level. USI
has claimed two national championships (men's basketball, 1995;
baseball, 2010), finished three times as the national finalist
(men's basketball, 1994 and 2004; and women's basketball 1997), and
earned two third-place finishes (men's cross country, 1982;
baseball, 2007). The men's and women's cross country/track teams
have produced four individual national championships since
1997.
The University is proud of the academic achievements of its
student athletes, who maintain an overall grade point average of
3.0. USI, which has been nationally ranked by USA Today and the
NCAA for student athlete graduation rates, is proud to offer
scholarship opportunities in each of the following programs:
