Academic Advising Updates
Effective Fall 2009:
· Placement in all developmental courses (GENS 097, 098, 099, and 151) is now MANDATORY. This includes DEVELOPMENTAL READING COURSES.
· Students placing into GENS courses must attempt those courses as part of their first 17 USI-hours attempted.
· Students who place into GENS 099 may also take advantage of a new course delivery method that will allow them to move through the developmental reading sequence more quickly.
· There is a new criteria for placement into ENG 101. Students not meeting that criteria will be required to take an English Placement Test prior to or on the day of their Orientation to determine which English course they should be taking in the summer/fall.
