Academic Coaching
USI student can be paired with an Academic Coach in Academic Skills for help with specific study skills, such as:
- Organization
- Test Taking
- Time Management
- Note Taking
- Textbook Reading
Academic Coaching provides a free service to students who need academic assistance and support by offering individualized weekly sessions focusing on:
- specific study skills, such as organization, time managment, procrastination, note taking, textbook reading, test taking, memory, and concentration
- self-regulated learning
- student accountability, responsibility, and self-advocacy
- goal setting and planned action
- breaking assignments into manageable parts
- active listening, feedback, collaberation, and encouragement
- coaches modeling successful learning strategies
