Meet the Staff

Jann Hickey

Jann has been the Learning Specialist in Academic Skills since 1996. She recruits, trains, and supervises the study skills tutors and subject-based tutors in Academic Skills. Recently, Jann initiated and developed an Academic Coaching program for students who want ongoing individualized academic support. At USI, Jann teaches Speed Reading (GENS 199), Praxis Prep (GENS 199), College Study Strategies (GENS 105), and the EDUC 490 Tutor Training class. She is a member of ATP (Association for the Tutoring Profession), CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association), and NADE (National Association for Developmental Educators). Before coming to USI, Jann served as learning specialist and head of the Lower School at Evansville Day School and also taught at the University of Evansville in the School of Education.
