TASK FORCE ON ENROLLMENT & RETENTION MANAGEMENT

Task Force Charges given by the President included:

  1. To thoroughly analyze the USI retention issue, exhaustively cataloging any special circumstances, and report on current performance;
     
  2. To develop an inventory of existing retention initiatives/practices, including the identification of student target cohorts;
     
  3. To recommend development of consistent measures and processes for the ongoing collection and analysis of data and information by which to monitor the University's performance with respect to retention over time (including why students decide to come to USI, and whey they decide to leave);
     
  4. To identify and evaluate current University policies, practices, and services which are believed to have a significant positive impact on retention, and make recommendations as to which practices or services should receive additional attention for improvement, development, and/or expansion, including but not limited to, new student recruitment, orientation, course registration, student advising systems, financial assistance, and academic course planning;
     
  5. To identify current University policies, practices, and services which are believed to have a significant negative impact on retention, and to remove and/or minimize the impact of these factors and to make recommendations accordingly;
     
  6. To provide the University with a detailed written report on activities and recommendations for action and improvement; and,
     
  7. To keep the University community informed of recruitment and retention related issues.
