Dr. Hoops,
Hello, my name is Samuel Schmitz, and I am a 2003 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana. I am presently attending Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. I am writing this letter to commend the Chemistry Department and the University as a whole, which prepared me extremely well for professional school. The students in my Dental School class attended prestigious institutions such as the University of Notre Dame, Michigan State University, Indiana University and Wabash College. I can tell you I was as well or even more prepared than the majority of my classmates.
The faculty of the Chemistry Department treated me with respect and professionalism. During the four year curriculum, I developed many skills that I use everyday in Dental School. Many times, I did not recognize the importance of an exercise, but now I am very grateful for the experience I gained.
I am writing this letter not only to praise the Chemistry Department, but to acknowledge the state of the University as well. The relatively low tuition costs allowed me to achieve my goals without accumulating major debt. I believe the University of Southern Indiana can be and in some cases is one of the finer institutions of higher learning in the nation.
Sincerely,
Samuel E. Schmitz
