Spring SIR now available

The spring 2003 issue of
Southern Indiana Review - University of Southern Indiana's national
literary magazine - is now available at the USI Bookstore. Barnes & Noble
Booksellers and Golden Raintree Books in New Harmony also plan to carry the
magazine.
Featuring poetry, fiction, translation, reviews, and art, SIR
showcases the talents of emerging and established writers and artists from
across the Midwest and the country.
Award-winning authors, teachers, professors, and artists are among the
contributors, including Joseph Bathani, William Brown, Leah Kornfeld
Friedman, R.M. Kinder, David Shumate, and Charles David Kleymeyer,
an Evansville native interested in the folk literature of South America.
Seven members of the USI faculty also are among the contributors:
Patricia Aakhus, instructor in
English - fiction: "Coyote"
Lenny Dowhie, professor of art -
linoleum print: "Another Night in Hell"
Tonya Northenor, instructor in
English - review: "The Country I Come From by Norbert Krapf"
Carolyn Roth, special part-time
instructor in art - linoleum prints: "Shadow," "Duality"
Dr. Joseph Uduehi, assistant
professor of art education - linoleum prints: "Unshakable," "Do Not
Scream"
Elliot Wasserman, associate
professor of theatre - poetry: "Some Things We Say"
Kathryn Waters, chair of the Art, Music, and Theatre Department - woodcut: "On the Banks of the Wabash"
USI's
School of Liberal Arts sponsors the SIR, which receives
support from the Indiana Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the
Arts.
The magazine price is $10 per copy. To obtain one by mail: Send a mailing
address and check to Southern Indiana Review, Liberal Arts Center,
USI, 8600 University Boulevard, Evansville, IN 47712. Yearly subscriptions,
two issues, are $16. Subscriptions may be made online by
clicking here.
Submissions of poetry, fiction, interviews, artwork, photography,
critical essays, and reviews are accepted between October 1 and January 1.
