Financial Management Track

The Financial Management Track is one of five specialized tracks developed for BA or BS Accounting and Professional Services majors at USI. 

Accountants in industry are often involved in financial management, which is considered to be the application of the planning function and the control function with the finance function. The Financial Management Track is a great educational opportunity for students who aspire to a career involving:

  • financial reporting
  • budgeting
  • internal controls
  • decision analysis
  • financial planning

Accountants in the Financial Management area may also be certified as Certified Government Financial Managers (CGFM).

The courses that emphasize the financial management education include:

ACCT 401 - Advanced Accounting
FIN 361 - Financial Institutions or ECON 361 - Money and Banking
FIN 433 - Principles of Investments
FIN 461 - Financial Management
