Dr. Craig Ehlen


Biography

Professor Ehlen received the D.B.A. degree in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He also earned the M.A.S. and B.S. degrees in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Champaign. In addition, he is both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

Professor Ehlen specializes in auditing, financial accounting, and fraud auditing and forensic accounting. He has twenty years of experience in public accounting and senior financial management with both large and small public companies. Dr. Ehlen also has been a corporate director and a director of several overseas joint ventures and has substantial experience in negotiating mergers and acquisitions as well as joint venture contracts.

Professor Ehlen has published more than thirty-five articles in academic and professional journals, including Auditing: A Journal of Practice & Theory, The CPA Journal, Fraud, The Journal of Occupational & Organizational Psychology, The Journal of Accounting, Ethics, and Public Policy, The Journal of Applied Business Research, and The International Business and Economics Research Journal. He is active in professional organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the American Accounting Association (AAA), and the Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS). Dr. Ehlen has served as President of the Indiana CPA Educational Foundation and on several statewide committees for the INCPAS as well as on the national research committee and editorial review board of the ACFE. The Indiana CPA Society selected Dr. Ehlen as Indiana’s “Outstanding Accounting Educator” in 2001.
