Competitions & Awards

USI Computer Information Systems winsNational Collegiate Conference of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP)
The National Collegiate Conference of the Association of Information Technology Professionals competition pits future IT professionals from all across the country against each other in an Office Solutions challenge. Additionally, competing students can attempt the national IT certification exam for free.

The 2013 team won first place in the competition out of 80 schools that participated. 

In 2015, two students received Honorable Mentions and another received the highest score in a national certification exam.

In 2016, two students took first place in the MS Office Solutions team competition. Two others passed the rigorous ICCP Certification exam.

Information Systems Project and Case Competition
The competition allows students majoring in a technology discipline to utilize their skills by solving a live case analysis and showcasing their senior projects. The event is hosted by the Miller College of Business at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

2015: The first year a team from USI entered the competition they were named Overall Champs and received the highest number of awards, beating out twelve teams from seven universities. Read press release>>

2017: A team of Computer Information Systems and Computer Science majors was named overall champion. This is the third year teams from USI have entered the competition, and they received the highest number of awards. Read about the students' achievements>>
