Student Challenges!

Seventeen teams and nearly 60 students campuswide took the Romain College's #8hrChallenge! The event challenged teams to design a website that highlights the many student engagement activities of business majors. Judges chose the top three ideas, with teams receiving monetary awards.

Each semester professionals team up to share their experiences about relevant topics of study so students get a perspective from both the private and public sector.

USI Speaking Eagles Toastmasters Club

Students from all majors practice their speaking and communications skills in a friendly, comfortable environment. Professionals volunteer to attend each weekly meeting to coach, provide constructive criticism, and talk about how communication impacts their organization. USI's Speaking Eagles Toastmasters currently has earned Select Distinguished Club status.

The Extravaganza is one of our biggest events. It is held annually and all students are invited  - whether they are accounting majors or have even considered accounting as a career. Student guests enjoy an evening "speed" networking with Accounting Circle members and Young Professionals to learn all about a career in accounting..

In their Senior Project class, it's time for CIS and Computer Science majors to "put it all together," using the skills they've learned in the classroom to solve a business problem for a real-life client - some of which are award-winning projects.

Speaker Series

The Romain College of Business Speaker Series enriches the educational experience of students at the University and residents of surrounding areas. The College sponsors speakers who provide insights on entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and excellence in the business world. These engagements are events for the campus and the community.

The College retains three advisory boards: Accounting Circle, Board of Advisors, and IT Alliance. These leaders are tasked with providing input to the College on developing curricula that connects classroom learning to the business world.

The Maxwell program is successfully used by some of the world's largest corporations, and the USI Romain College of Business is the only business school offering this Maxwell Leadership Development program, customized exclusively for college students.

There are several organizations and honors societies for business majors that allow students to collaborate and network across disciplines. Throughout the academic year, these organizations hold events, raise money toward numerous philanthropies, volunteer in Evansville and the surrounding area, offer leadership opportunities for their members, and promote diversity on campus - all while having fun!

Study Abroad Opportunities

The Romain College conducts an International Summer University that is a 3.5-week long academic and cultural program at the University of Applied Sciences in  Osnabrück, Germany. The program typically meets in July, and students earn up to six credit hours. In addition, students gain a rich weekend travel experience to Berlin, Amsterdam, and Paris. The program also offers social events and company visits, such as trips to the Volkswagen headquarters in Wolfsburg Autostadt.
