M001
- Month End Budget Status
Description -
This report shows budget availability as of the end of the fiscal period.
The following information is presented:
-Adjusted budget: Adopted
budget plus or minus any budget adjustments
-Year to date actual:
Accounting activity from the beginning of the fiscal year (July 1) to the end
of month reported
-Commitments:
Encumbrances and budget reservations (purchase orders and requisitions)
-Available balance:
Remaining budget available (adjusted budget less year to date actual and
commitments)
-Percent of the budget used
-Percent of the budget available
Purpose
– This report compares budget versus actual accounting activity to
aid in planning and decision making.
In addition, percent of budget used (or available) can be compared to
the percent of the fiscal year completed (or remaining) to help plan for the
remaining months of the fiscal year.
M002
- Month End Transaction Detail
Description
– This report is a detailed list of actual revenue and expense transactions
since the beginning of the fiscal year (July 1).
Purpose – This
report should be used to review transactions to ensure they are posted to
the correct fund/org, listed at the correct amount, and classified
correctly. Questions about
transactions appearing on this report should be directed to the accounting
contact listed for the fund/org.
M003
- Month End Budget Transactions
Description
– This report is a detailed list of budget transactions since the
beginning of the fiscal year (July 1).
It includes the adopted budget, budget dollars carried forward from
the previous fiscal year, and any current-year budget adjustments.
Purpose - This
report should be used to review budget transactions for information and
accuracy. Questions about
transactions appearing on this report should be directed to the budget
contact listed for the fund/org.
M004
- Month End 3 Year Average Comparison
Description
– This report shows revenue and expenses at the end of the fiscal
period. It also shows revenue
and expenses at the same point in time for the previous three fiscal years.
Purpose
-
This report can be used to gauge how current year financial activity
compares to the previous three fiscal years.
By understanding how current financial position compares to financial
position at the same point in previous fiscal years, it may also be used to
help estimate fiscal year end balances.
M005
- Month End Fiscal Period Comparison
Description
– This report shows cumulative financial activity for the fiscal year
by each month completed. The
values to compare for each month appear side by side along with a total.
The total column equals the fiscal year to date amount as of the end
of the fiscal period.
Purpose
– This
report can be used to compare accounting activity for each month of the
current fiscal year. It can be
used to identify exceptions which might indicate an error or illustrate
trends to prompt reconsideration of plans for the remainder of the year.

- Year to Date Organizational Spending Report
Description
–
This report shows the current balance in the agency funds and a detailed
list of actual revenue and expense transactions since the beginning of the
fiscal year (July 1).
Purpose – This report should be used to review transactions to ensure they are posted to the correct fund/org, listed at the correct amount, and classified correctly. This report should also be used to ensure fund balances are correct at the end of each month. Questions about the current balance or transactions appearing on this report should be directed to the accounting contact listed for the fund/org.
