USI Express Pay
Frequently Asked Questions:

1.    What is Automated Billing and Payment Processing?

Beginning Fall 2006, the University of Southern Indiana will introduce USI Express Pay, an electronic system for all students to view their bills, print their bills and make payments online. Through the new USI Express Pay system, an email will be sent to each student's official University of Southern Indiana email address and any authorized payers' email address every time a new statement is ready.

2.    What is the difference between my monthly eBill and the account information I can see on My USI?).

The monthly eBill is a web-based presentation of your student bill. It represents a snapshot in time of your monthly bill. In addition, it will also reflect account activity that has occurred since the billing statement was created.

My USI displays your complete account history – it is updated continuously to display transactions that have occurred.

3.    What company has the University of Southern Indiana partnered with to provide this service?

infiNET is providing USI Express Pay, a hosted automatic billing and payment processing service. Our contract with them ensures that the processes are compliant with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley (GLB) Act.

4.     Is infiNET’s USI Express Pay website secure?

The University of Southern Indiana believes that security is a very important factor in providing automated billing and payment processing services. The technical architecture/security of the infiNET service uses intrusion detection and firewall systems to protect the network.

5.    Why is the University of Southern Indiana transitioning to automated billing and payment processing?

The University of Southern Indiana has decided to move to automated billing and payment processing for several reasons, among them time and money savings. The USI Express Pay service is available worldwide, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. There are no checks, envelopes or stamps needed to make a payment. Additional benefits include viewable billing and payment history as well as convenient access for authorized payers whom the students set up. Institution administrative costs for printing and postage are also reduced.

6.    Are the University of Southern Indiana’s eBills accessible to visually impaired students?

The University of Southern Indiana’s electronic bill is ADA (American Disability Act) compliant and is accessible to students with disabilities.

7.    How can I make a payment online?

Checking and savings account information from a bank within the United States can be entered at the Express Pay website and payments will be transferred electronically to the University of Southern Indiana. Authorized payers will only be able to view their own payment and bank information. Each authorized payer is assigned a separate password for added security and privacy.

Upon login, students can view the bill, set up and store bank account information, pay the bill electronically and print paper copies.

13.    How can my parents/authorized payers log in and view the bill?

People other than the student may have the ability to view the bill as an authorized payer. Students must set up authorized payers in the system.
