Placement File & Recommendation Letter FAQ
A placement file is an official USI document that consists of up to five letters of recommendation, it is sometimes requested by employers/school corporations to complete your application.
To set up a placement file you must first register with Career Services. Request references to fill out recommendation forms provided by the Career Services and Placement office or use reference letterhead and have them sent to Career Services and Placement. Check periodically that letters of recommendation have been received. Call or stop by to request files be sent, when requested by the school.
To obtain a recommendation form come into the Career Services and Placement Office and ask for a recommendation form or download the .pdf.

4. Past Employers who can speak of your interaction with children
To check on a letter of recommendation call Career Services and Placement at 464-1865 or stop in the office in the Orr Center.
Yes, your file is open, which means you can make copies of your file. Stop by the Career Services and Placement office and ask for your file, you must leave collateral such as an ID or car keys, go make your copies and be sure to return the originals to Career Services and Placement.
