More than 5 hours per day is considered a full day and charged $21.00/day or $102 per week for full-time care.

Non-USI (Community) parent fees for 3-pre-K 6 year old children:
Full time:  $129.00/week or $26.00/day for partial weeks when university is closed.
Part time care is not available for community children--only for USI-affiliated children.

The full-time fees include lunch, a morning and afternoon snack. State licensing requires that all children in attendance during the lunch hour are served lunch, provided by a caterer or center-based kitchen approved by the State Board of Health.  Sodexho, located on USI campus is the vendor for the Children's Center, providing lunches. By law, parents may not send homemade food or opened containers of prepared food for children to eat at the center.

All parents are required to sign a contract of scheduled hours of child's attendance, but may coordinate contract changes with the center coordinator at any time.

Other Information:
Parents are responsible for contracted child care fees, regardless of child's attendance.  The weekly fee is prorated if the days the University is closed affect the child's attendance.

The contracted child care fee will not be enforced for students and faculty when classes are not in session, unless these clients choose to enroll their child/children during the class recesses.

In the event that a child is not picked up by closing, a late fee of .20 per minute per child will be charged for the first 10 minutes, and $1.00 per minute per child for each additional minute thereafter. Parents of children who are not not picked up at or before 5:00 p.m. will be assessed a late fee.

The center is closed the following days/dates:  Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday; and Winter Recess, to be announced (Winter Recess occurs during the Christmas/New Year holiday season).  The center does not provide child care services on the Thursday and Friday in August before the start of fall semester classes, in order to facilitate staff training and new student worker orientation.

Half-day USI Preschool:
A half-day MWF; TTh or M-F preschool program is available for children ages 3-6 years, during the academic school year. You may call the center to visit and/or pre-enroll for the 2008-2009 school year. Fees are: MWF- $115 per month; TTh- $79 per month; M-F- $194 per month. The preschool day runs 8:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m., with a substantial snack provided.
