Commencement Ceremony begins on Saturday, December 12, 2009 in the Physical Activities Center (PAC).

There will be two Commencement ceremonies this year due to the increasing number of graduates.

The ceremonies will be divided as follows (To learn important facts about graduation, please click on the PDF file below that pertains to your college):

10:00 a.m. Ceremony

Please report to PAC 200 at 8:30 a.m. The processional line-up will begin at 9:00 a.m.

1:00 p.m. Ceremony

College of Liberal Arts
Division of Extended Services

Please report to PAC 200 at 11:30 a.m. The processional line-up will begin at 12:00 p.m.

NOTE: If you are unsure what College your major falls under, please contact your advisor or the Office of the Registrar.

Reservations are REQUIRED to participate in the Commencement Ceremony.
Degree candidates will line up according to their college and degree type. If you have a double major, please line up with the college in which you prefer to be recognized. If you are majoring in secondary education, you will line up in the college of your area (ie: Math, Art, etc) NOT in the College of Education
DO NOT bring valuables or cell phones into the robing area. The area will not be secure during the ceremony. Cell phones will be collected for the duration of the ceremony.
No tickets or admission fees apply, so early arrival will ensure better seating for your guests.
Flat shoes are required to protect the hardwood floors in the PAC.

Commencement Reservation Process

Complete your required Commencement reservation: http://www.usi.edu/commencement/registration.asp
- Please make sure you have completed the reservation process before December 4, 2009 if you plan to walk at Commencement.
You will receive an email confirmation of your reservation.
- NOTE: While this notifies us that you will be participating in the Commencement Ceremony it is not all that you need to do in order to graduate. Please make sure that you check with your advisor and all of the appropriate paperwork has been filled out.
If you do not receive a message confirming your reservation, do not have access to email, or if you have any questions about Commencement, please call the Office of Special Events @ 812/464-1930 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Faculty Participation
• Faculty members who wish to participate in the Fall Commencement exercises are expected to wear the appropriate academic regalia
• Reservations are required, please contact the Office of Special Events if you have not replied.
• You may purchase academic robes, caps, and hoods through the USI Bookstore.
• Faculty memberS and administrative personnel assemble in the Varsity Club Room at 9:15 a.m. for the 10 a.m. ceremony and 12:15 p.m. for the 1 p.m. ceremony.
• Please do not bring valuables, as there is no safe place for storage during the ceremony.
• Faculty follows the degree candidates in the procession.
• The ceremony lasts approximately one hour.
• No tickets or admission fees apply, early arrival ensures better seating if you are not participating in the processional.

Diplomas
• You will NOT receive your diploma at Commencement
• Graduates who completed the Formal Application and Diploma Form by October 1 may pick up diplomas at the Registrar’s Office in the Robert D. Orr Center on or after February 22, 2010.
**Orders placed after October 1 will be delayed

• If you would like to have your diploma mailed when it is available, please submit a request online. Remember to notify the Registrar’s Office of any address changes. If you have any questions, call 812/464-1762 or 1-800/467-1965.

Commencement Keepsake DVD

• A high quality Commencement 2009 Keepsake DVD will be produced and available by using our secure online form or through the Alumni & Volunteer Services office at 812/464-1924, by email alumni@usi.edu, at the PAC Counter, or by mail:

• Be sure to include the number of DVD copies needed at $20 per copy, your name, address, and telephone number.
• If paying by check, make checks payable to University of Southern Indiana.
