Personal Network Drive
Did you know you can save important files to your personal network drive space and have those files backed up? Yes, you can save documents, spreadsheets - files you don't want to have to recreate if your "My Documents" bites the dust.
Use your H: drive.
Everyone* with a Novell ID should have one. It's your "Home" directory. Data stored there is accessible to you alone and is backed up nightly. When you look at your available drives, whether in My Computer or Windows Explorer, it is:
{your userID} on 'Ucs\Users\Home'(H:).
Everyone starts with 1G (1 Gigabyte = 1,000 M(egabyte) = 1,000,000 K(ilobyte) of allocated space. If you run out of room, you can request more. At present, you should make your request via email to cchelp@usi.edu. Please give some idea of approximately how much additional space you anticipate needing. There will soon be a form to submit, but so far, we've had no difficulty meeting requests made in the above manner.
If you have questions, or would like some assistance, please call the Help Desk at 465-1080 or email cchelp@usi.edu.
* Some areas may have a different drive letter. It has your name on it, but the H: at the end will be different.
