Personal Counseling
Counselors at the Counseling Center provide an opportunity for students to freely explore any personal problems or concerns they may not wish to share with family or friends.
At your first appointment, you and a counselor will discuss the issues that led you to schedule your appointment. The counselor will talk to you about how the Center is best able to provide the kind of help you need and which staff member would be most appropriate for you. When the Center is unable to provide the type of service you need or request, we will refer you to an appropriate outside agency and assist you in obtaining service there.
At this time, there is no charge for personal counseling as long as you are enrolled in classes.
For more information or to meet with a counselor, please contact the Counseling Center at 812/464-1867 for an appointment.
I set my appointment to meet with a counselor, what do I do now?
Once an appointment has been made, you will be asked to fill out some
intake paperwork on the computer prior to your first appointment. This paperwork
gives the counselor some basic information which will help in better meeting
your needs. Ideally, you will fill out this paperwork BEFORE you arrive for your
appointment so your time in our office can be spent with your counselor rather
than filling out paperwork.
