Registration:
You may register for USI distance education courses through your academic department or via
MyUSI (excluding Permission-Only courses).
Click here to view eligibility requirements, available dates, and a
quick guide on how to register via MyUSI.
Distance education courses are listed on the printed USI Class Schedules under the USI
Distance Education heading and are also listed
online. You should receive permission from your academic advisor to register for distance
education courses. As with on-campus courses, pre-requisites or placement tests may be
required.
Sample syllabi for many USI distance education courses are available
through USI's Blackboard system.
Click on Course Catalog, and then select the Distance Education
and Online Courses folder. Here, click You may drop courses via
MyUSI or
the regular course drop form. If you live outside Evansville, you may complete the online
form and fax it to the USI Registrar's Office at 812/464-1911. Note: The date that this completed form is received by the USI
Registrar's Office is considered the course drop
or withdraw date. Note: Lack of participation in a distance education course does NOT mean an automatic withdrawal. If the appropriate drop/withdrawal paperwork is not processed, you will receive an F in the course, and this grade will appear on your USI
records.
Billing: Information about Express
Pay, an electronic system for all students to view their bills, print
their bills and make payments online, is available online.

If you register during USI's early registration period, you will receive
notification from USI Learning Center or from your instructor with
information about the course and how to obtain the necessary materials. If you
register during the open registration or late registration periods,
contact your instructor for important course-related information.
If you would like to take one or more USI distance education courses without seeking a degree, you may qualify for Special Student status. Contact
the USI Learning Center for details.
Course Drop/Withdrawal:
You are responsible for your enrollment. Consult the USI academic calendar for drop and withdrawal deadlines and refund information. Consult your academic advisor before dropping or withdrawing from courses. Dropping
courses may affect financial assistance, health insurance coverage, and other
things. USI's policies for revising
a course schedule (fall/spring terms) and withdrawing
from a semester (fall/spring terms) are available online.
Billing for distance education courses follows the same process as on-campus
courses. The Bursar's Office is able to take credit card payment via telephone
at 812/464-1842 or online via MyUSI.
To pay online, log into MyUSI and click
Self Service > Students and Financial Aid > Student Records > View
Bills/Pay
NOTE: Enrolled students must take action to drop/withdraw
themselves from any classes. The
University does not cancel students’ classes for failure to settle
their accounts.
