|Distance Learning User Support
The Walk-in Support Center is created to address faculty and students' ad hoc technology issues and distance learning related questions. No appointment is needed. The STC support is available during the operation hours of Mon. Wed. Fri. 9:00 - 11:30am (FA 0046) and Tue. Wed. Thu. 2 - 4pm (FA 0043).
|Exam Proctoring Services
The Department of Distance Learning provides both on-campus exam proctoring and off-campus proctor screening services to USI Distance Learning students. Faculty and students with exam proctoring needs can contact email@example.com or call 812/228-5124 for further assistance.
|Faculty Seminar and Training Workshops
Established in 2013, the Innovative Distance Education Academy (IDEA) provides a faculty training and support platform for online teaching excellence. Faculty can receive training, consultation, and support to develop and deliver quality Distance Learning courses.
|Faculty Technology Loaner Program
USI faculty can check out a piece of technology equipment at the Faculty Innovation Studio (FA 46), such as an ipad, laptop, webcam, headset, etc. A 15-min overview training of the loaned equipment is also available upon request.
|GENS 199 - Surviving and Thriving in Distance Learning
GENS 199 provides a user-friendly learning environment that assists students in analyzing their readiness level, determining online learning needs, and practicing required technical skills. It is a 7-week 1 credit elective course for students who desire to sharpen their online learning skills. It offers twice a semseter and can be registered directly on my USI.
|Online (Blackboard) Exam Support
Distance Learning faculty at USI can seek online (Blackboard) exam development support. Simply provide the exam questions and answers on a word document and the DL staff will convert the exam file into a Blackboard-friendly format. |Online Teaching Consultation
USI faculty can schedule a "one-on-one" appointment and discuss a specific online teaching need/issue with the Distance Learning Consultants at DLhelp@usi.edu. It doesn't matter if it is about choosing a suitable learning technology or designing online learning activities, we will assist you identifying a suitable solution.
|Online Student Readiness Assessment
USI students can determine if Distance Learning is right for them by completing a Online Student Readiness Assessment on Blackboard. If you are curious about your readiness level for online learning success, please go to Blackboard and enter the course site "FREE Distance Learning Student Readiness Assessment" and get started with the assessment.
|The Mobile Support Station
Every Monday, a support station is setup on the third floor of the Orr center (9:30 - 11am) and BE 2254 (1:30 - 3:00pm) by the Distance Learning support staff. Faculty can stop by the station to either ask a question or schedule an "one-on-one" session to support their online teaching needs.
