About the College
The Bower-Suhrheinrich College of Education and Human Services supports the fundamental mission of the University of Southern Indiana by expanding access to postsecondary education and providing service to citizens of southern Indiana. The College educates and prepares professionals who will have a positive impact in schools, institutions, organizations and communities.
The College is driven by the need to develop programs which are grounded in and reflective of the best in current literature and effective practices. Such programs include broad exposure to the knowledge base of the field and provide the opportunity for the demonstration of competencies through periodic assessment, as well as the opportunity for self-assessment by each student. In addition, these programs develop partnerships in the community, contribute to the improvement of the professional status of candidates, and include opportunities for interactive processes.
