Faculty and Staff
Dr. Robert Boostrom
I teach educational foundations courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs. My interests include the moral life of classrooms and critical thinking. I designed a graduate course around each interest (Moral Dimensions of Schooling: EDUC 605 and Thinking In The Classroom: EDUC 606).
I am a co-author (with Philip Jackson and David Hansen) of The Moral Life of Schools (Jossey Bass, 1998) and the author of Developing Creative and Critical Thinking (Wiley, 1993) and, most recently, Thinking: The Foundation of Critical and Creative Learning in the Classroom (Teachers College Press, 2005).
Since 1997, I have been U.S. Editor of the Journal of Curriculum Studies.
