Endeavor! Awards for Research & Creativity
Purpose
The purpose of the Endeavor! Awards is to support the creative and research
efforts of undergraduate students. All USI students from all majors are welcome.
About the Awards
The Endeavor! Awards have four components:
Student Collaboration Award
An award to help defray the costs associated with
doing research or a creative project: lab work, equipment, materials, and travel
to research sites. Students may apply for up to $2,500 through proposals they
write with help from faculty mentors. The deadline is the first Friday of the month for the Fall and Spring semesters
and the first Friday in April for the summer sessions.
Faculty Collaboration
Award
An award to provide funds for faculty to teach students to collaborate in research.
Faculty may receive up to $4,000 through the proposals they write. The deadline
is the first Friday of the month for the Fall and Spring semesters and the first Friday in April for the summer
sessions.
Presentation Award
A travel award to help defray costs of presenting a
project at an off-campus professional meeting. The deadline is anytime but at
least 30 days before the presentation.
Symposium Undergraduate Research and
Creative Works
A conference held in late April or early May for the display of
student research and creative projects. Any undergraduate may apply. The
symposium is sponsored by Vectren Energy Delivery and USI Academic Affairs.
Students who receive funding from a student-collaborative award are not eligible
for funding through a separate faculty-collaborative award; students who receive
funding by being paid through a faculty-written award are not eligible for
funding from a student-collaborative award.
