Faculty Collaboration Awards
A competitive award program for undergraduate students and faculty who are conducting scholarly research or creative endeavors at the University of Southern Indiana. Faculty are encouraged to apply for up to $4,000 through proposals they have written.
Faculty-written awards can be used to help defray costs for equipment, lab work, materials, and travel expenses to research sites. In addition, up to 50 percent of the funds for a faculty-written award may be used to pay hourly student stipends for collaborative work done on the project. Students are signed up by the faculty mentor as student workers and are paid on a bi-weekly basis. The rate of payment is determined by the faculty person responsible for the project, but it must not be less than federal minimum wage or more than $12-$15 per hour.
The deadlines are the first Friday of the month for the Fall and Spring semesters and the first Friday in April for the summer sessions. Submit proposals for Endeavor Awards electronically to Jane Johansen. Send the cover page, the budget, and the proposal in PDF format.
All successful award participants are required to present their research at the Endeavor Undergraduate Research and Creative Works Symposium in April.
All equipment and excess materials purchased for the project using Endeavor! funds become the property of the faculty sponsor’s department once the project is completed.
