Health Professions Center
The Health Professions Center, opened in 1995, is a classroom and office building housing the School of Nursing and Health Professions and the Department of Social Work. The Indiana University School of Medicine, Evansville Center, is located on the third floor of the facility.
Features of the Health Professions Center include the 450-seat Mitchell
Auditorium, the Charles E. Day Learning Resource Center, a dental hygiene
clinic and dental laboratory, lecture rooms, classrooms, instructional laboratories,
seminar rooms, and faculty offices. The lower level includes laboratories
for science and social work, classrooms for health services, a human performance
laboratory, and the Student Health Center.
Indiana University School of Medicine
Evansville Center
Established in 1972, the Evansville Center for the IU School of Medicine is
one of eight satellite schools in Indiana that make up the Indiana University
School of Medicine. Located on the third floor of the Health Professions Center,
the Evansville Center for Medical Education has teaching classrooms and biomedical
laboratories.
Out of the 285 students admitted to the IU School of Medicine, 16 are assigned
to Evansville where they enroll in their first two years of medical training.
The faculty is comprised of the IU science faculty and over 100 local physicians
who donate their time toward education of the students.
