The University of Southern Indiana offers an
annual scholarship program for adult
learners to recognize their academic achievement. This provides financial
assistance as they return to college to complete an associate’s or bachelor’s
degree.
The scholarship is awarded in the spring of the academic year during
honors week, and will
typically range from $1000 - $2000. The award may be applied toward tuition,
additional fees, books, and other USI
expenses for the following academic year.
Applicants must be current students, age 25 or older, with sophomore or higher class standing, and have a
completed FAFSA on file with USI. Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and be in compliance with “Satisfactory Academic Progress” guidelines established for financial assistance.
Winners will be selected based on academic achievement, overall quality of the essay submitted with the application, and financial need.
The completed application, essay, and letter of support from a USI
faculty or staff member should be submitted to Adult Learner Scholarship,
Outreach and Engagement, 8600 University Blvd., Evansville, IN
47712. The deadline to apply for the 2013-2014 award is April 19, 2013.
Winners of the 2013 Adult Learner Scholarship will be announced May 15!
